HOME MADE DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!

HOME MADE DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 200g Butter
  • 300g Caster Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 325g Self-Raising Flour
  •  Milk ( a small amount is optional )
  • 200g White Chocolate
  • 200g Milk Chocolate

This recipe will create around 12 cookies depending on how big you choose to make them. I normally manage to get around 15 out of my mixture.
  •  To start you will need to pre-heat your oven to 200 degrees C.
  • Whisk together the butter and sugar until its a creamy texture and pale colour.TIP: The butter will be much easier to whisk in if it is at room temperature so I would suggest having the butter out of the fridge a while before you begin baking.
  • Crack your egg and whisk it in with your mixture.
  • Gradually add the flour a small amount at a time until it is all mixed in.
  • At this point if your mixture looks too dry this is when you would add a dash of milk. On the other hand if your mixture is looking too sticky add a little more flour.
  • Break up all your chocolate in to small chunks and add to the mixture. Mix it through well to make sure there is an even amount of chocolate through out. TIP: If you don't want to have to break up the chocolate you could always buy bags of chocolate chips rather than a bar of chocolate.
  • With your mixture create 10-15 balls of dough.
  • Spread them out evenly on a baking tray and place in the oven. TIP: Place the tray in the middle of the oven rather than the top as they are more likely to burn up near the top.

  •  Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes. Do not leave them in any longer than this time. Check the cookies after 10 minutes as every minute longer than they need could ruin the cookies. TIP: take the cookies out as soon as the time is up because although they may look like they need longer cookies will actually harden once they have been removed from the oven.
  • The final cookie should be hard on the outside and gooey on the inside.

ENJOY xxx

Make Up Brush Cleaning!

When it comes to cleaning make up brushes it can become a big job, and a good brush cleaner can be expensive! But this is my guide to an easy and cheap way of successfully cleaning your brushes.

You will need:
  • ·     Face wash.
  • ·     3x small bowls.
  • ·     2x small old but clean towels.
  • ·     Warm water.
  • ·      Dirty make up brushes.

First of all instead of an expensive brush cleaner, face washes also do the job just as well. Although pick wisely as sensitive washes do work much better and are better for your brushes.
This is the face wash I used. The ‘Simple kind to skin refreshing facial wash gel’

To begin squirt a small amount of the face wash into one of the small bowls. Fill the other two with warm water.

To start off dip the end of the brush in to the warm water (making sure not to get too much of the brush wet as this could disturb the glue further up in the brush causing the bristles to fall out )

From here get your damp brush and dip the end into the bowl of facial wash. Making sure the product has picked up onto the brush.

Now on your towel gently swirl the brush in circular motions. Keep going until all the old make up is out of the brush. You should be swirling the brush in the excess facial wash off the brush.
Once you think the make up brush is clean dip the brush in the second bowl of water to rinse it. You will know when the brush is clean as when you go to rinse the brush only clean water will come out rather than any of the old make up coming out of the brush in the water.

For drying lie the brush down on the spare towel. The brush must be laid down as if it is stood up the water will get into the glue ruining the brush. The brushes could take several hours to dry but don’t try and speed the process up by using a hair dryer as this will burn the brush and ruin the shape of the brush. If you have any specific shape brushes like a fan brush reshape the brush in to its correct shape whilst it is still wet.

once you have done this with one go ahead and do the rest of you make up brush collection and leave them all out to dry.

Autumn At Last!

"Hello Autumn" Autumn at last!
·         It’s finally time to put away the short shorts and flip flops as we say to good bye to summer and pull out the oversized jumpers and ugg boots and say hello to autumn.
Along with the change of seasons came the time to redecorate and re-accessorizing my room for autumn bringing out the fairy lights, throws, cushions and best of all the scented candles. All little things making my room so much cosier for the cold autumn nights

·         With the changing of the weather the wardrobe change isn't far behind. With the shops changing their stock for the new season this is always the best time to shop.

·         Not forgetting the seasonal drinks! With the introduction of hot chocolates back into everyday life and the new drinks brought out like latte and coffee in flavours such as gingerbread, cinnamon and caramel there is no better time of year for enjoying hot drinks.

Finally there are the changes in weather going from the summer to the autumn. The changes from the fresh air with the hot summer sun to the crisp cold air with the lightly frosted autumn grass.
These are strange changes as we love the hot summers and the thought of going into cold rain and snow is not what we want but when it comes to autumn this is the exact opposite we can’t wait for the first opportunity to put on big coats and boots.

Knowing the nights are colder and darker is always something I look forward to when it comes to autumn and winter. After a full day there is nothing nicer than lighting the candles getting one of my favourite autumn drinks and enjoying a cosy night in of Netflix whether that’s on my own or with a group of friends!
